“Chips sparkle wae vinegar.
Shells crunch under ma toes.
The salty winds whip awa ma hair.
For I am hame. An aw is braw.”

10 miles south of Dunoon, lies the little huddle that is Toward. A small cluster of houses, cooried next to the lighthouse, with some of the best views of the Clyde. This is a place to seek inspiration to write that book or to paint that painting.
Or, to simply blow off the cobwebs, pop on the wellies and rockpool.

You can take time and settle, read a good book, and retreat with a dram in front of a roaring fire. Taking time to slow down and stop is what this side of Scotland is all about.

Toward Neuk is a home from home, for people like us, who seek inspiration by the sea and some quiet from the daily grind. This is an apartment to escape to. A space to think. A nest to inspire creativity.

There’s no shop, or pub in Toward. No bustle. But there is a bus that takes you to and from Dunoon, or all the way to Ardentinney. The daily ferries pass by in the distance, heading to Rothesay, Bute or Arran. The seals bob their heads up and say hello, and the odd brave paddle boarder slips by. Wild swimmers have been known to take a maddie, and swim around the point. So while it is quiet and peaceful, there is a bustle that is the magic of Scotland just beneath the surface.
